Accessibility at Argile

We want everyone to be able to explore Argile colours, products and services and to use our Website with as few barriers as possible.

OUR APPROACH

We aim to design, build and maintain argile-peinture.com/en in line with recognised accessibility good practice, using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our reference standard where reasonably applicable.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. Website content, ecommerce features and third-party services change over time, so we review and improve accessibility as the Website develops.

COLOUR IS PART OF OUR PRODUCT

Accurate discussion of colour is fundamental to Argile. Some pages therefore contain colour swatches, photography and visual comparisons whose purpose is to communicate colour. We do not rely on colour alone where an equivalent text label or other practical alternative can reasonably be provided, but a screen cannot reproduce the exact appearance of physical paint. For colour selection, we recommend physical samples.

What we work towards

  • clear page structure and meaningful headings;
  • keyboard-accessible navigation and controls where supported by the Website platform;
  • useful text alternatives for informative images where appropriate;
  • readable text and sufficient contrast for interface and written content, while recognising the special role of paint-colour swatches;
  • forms and interactive elements that are labelled as clearly as reasonably possible;
  • compatibility with current browsers and commonly used assistive technologies.

Third-party content

Some functions are provided by third-party platforms or embedded services. We seek to use reputable providers and to improve issues within our control, but some accessibility characteristics of third-party tools are controlled by their providers.
